Public Health Ministry assures Zika situation not as bad as deemed by EU

BANGKOK, 1 September 2016 (NNT) – The Minister of Public Health has assured that the spread of the Zika virus in Thailand is not as severe as characterized by a European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control report, urging citizens not to panic as the Department of Disease Control (DDC) has the situation under control.

Minister of Public Health Dr. Piyasakol Sakolsathayathorn has chaired the sixth meeting of the National Communicable Disease Commission, which focused its discussions on the outbreak of Zika virus.
