Court rejects arrest warrant request for Phra Dhammachayo

The Criminal Court has thrown out a request of the enquiry officers of the Department of Special Investigation for an arrest warrant to be issued against Phra Dhammachayo on the ground that the abbot of Wat Dhammakaya has never shown any sign that he will run away.

DSI director-general Pol Col Paisit Wongmuang said that the DSI asked for an arrest warrant from the court because the embattled monk was not seriously sick as claimed and that he could perform his religious duties as usual.
