Prawit defends giving sweeping power to military personnel to tackle crimes

Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon said yesterday that the prime minister’s order giving sweeping power to soldiers to crack influential people because the Royal Thai Police has insufficient personnel to handle the task.

He said it was aimed at thwarting criminals who cause trouble for the public.
