New system suffers glitch, delays flights in Bangkok

Difficulties with a new air traffic management system caused delays for 130 flights at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports on Thursday morning, and it could be another day or two before air controllers become fully familiar with it.

Aerothai vice-president Thinnakorn Chuwong said the new air traffic control system, which uses satellite aids to assist with navigation, was used for the first time on Thursday.
