More farmers to join protest in Bangkok: PDRC

BANGKOK, Feb 11 – The anti-government People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) said today that about 3,000 farmers who have suffered from the overdue payment for the rice they have sold under the government’s subsidy scheme would join the protest in the capital.

PDRC leader Issara Somchai claimed that disgruntled farmers in some provinces have coordinated with the movement to use Lumpini Park which anti-government protesters have occupied as their temporary shelter. Some other farmers will join protesters led by Buddhist monk Phra Buddha Issara at Chaeng Wattana.
