Civil Court accepts petition seeking to revoke Emergency Decree

BANGKOK, Jan 30 – Thailand’s Civil Court on Thursday accepted for consideration a petition from the anti-government protest leader seeking to revoke the emergency decree, with an urgent hearing being held this afternoon to rule whether or not to issue a temporary injunction against the measure.

Former Democrat MP-turned-protest leader Thaworn Senneam of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) said he filed the petition for lifting enforcement of the 60-day special law, which he branded as unjustified.
