200 dogs destined for meat trade seized in Nakhon Phanom
NAKHON PHANOM, May 6 – Thai authorities on Monday seized 200 dogs while they were being shipped across the Mekong River for the canine meat trade in neighbouring countries.
Lt Dechopol Pongchan, head of Thai Navy Mekong riverine unit in Nakhon Phanom, said police seized the dogs in Buengkan province while they were being moved into a boat at the Mekong River.
