Thailand stages Loy Krathong festivities in 8 provinces
BANGKOK, 27 November 2012 (NNT) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expects to generate 800 million baht in circulation through the hosting of Loy Krathong festivities in 8 provinces across the country.
TAT governor Surapol Sveserani revealed that new retail complex Asiatique has been chosen as the authority’s Loy Krathong celebration venue in Bangkok. The compound has been selected to host a light boat show, a fireworks display, and a traditional Brahman lantern procession called ‘Chong Prieng’.
TAT candle ceremonies will be held in the provinces of Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai and Sukhothai. Large-scale Loy Krathong activities will also be held in Tak and Songkhla province.
