Flooding hits western Tak

TAK, Aug 19 – Local authorities have geared up to drain water from this province’s Mae Sot municipality, hit by flooding triggered by Kai Tak, a tropical depression which has been downgraded to a low pressure system.

The Mae Sot municipality opened sluice gates to drain floodwater after many roads were inundated and impassable for small vehicles.
