Unofficial ballot count in Chiang Mai PAO: Boonlert wins

CHIANG MAI, 24 June 2012 (NNT) – The unofficial ballot count for the position of chairperson of Chiang Mai’s Provincial Administration Organization has shown that candidate number 1, Mr. Boonlert Buranupakorn, is in the lead with 199,371 votes. The result was discovered after 46.63% of the ballots had been counted.

Mr. Boonchai is far ahead of his opponents, candidate number 2, Mr. Thaworn Kietchaiyakorn, who secured 65,965 votes, and candidate number 4, Ms.Kingkarn Na Chiang Mai, who had 46,935 votes. The number of voters who chose not to select any candidate was at 23,016 during the unofficial count.

The voting was overseen by the Election Commission of Thailand, and proceeded in an orderly fashion. No complaints have been filed regarding the voting.
