Over 100 pangolins seized in Chumphon enroute to Nong Khai

BANGKOK, May 26 — Thai Customs Department officials on Saturday rescued 138 endangered pangolins from a syndicate of wildlife smugglers and arrested one suspect in Chumphon as the scaly ant-eaters were enroute to the northeastern province of Nong Khai.

The suspect, who was identified as Chumphon resident Mr Pracha Ramai, 22, was arrested while he stopped his pick up truck at a petrol station in Chumphon.
