Big gambling den raided in Bangkok

About 100 metropolitan police raided a heavily guarded casino in Taopoon area on Bangkok’s Techawanich road in Bang Sue district early this morning and arrested 199 gamblers.

The raid, which began at 4.30am, was led by Pol Lt-Gen Winai Thongsong, the metropolitan police chief, Pol Maj-Gen Saroj Promcharoen, his deputy, and Pol Maj-Gen Wichai Sangprapai, the Metropolitan Police Division 1 commander.

The casino was located on adjoining ground floors of two two-storey buildings in the middle of a community.
