Thailand gets water pumps from China, Japan

BANGKOK, Nov 8 – Water pumps purchased from China and Japan are arriving Thailand to speed water drainage from industrial estates so that thousands of factories could resume operation as soon as possible, a senior energy ministry official said Tuesday.

Suthep Liamsiricharoen, director of the Ministry of Energy’s Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO), said the agency ordered 140 pumps from China and 120 from Japan. Some of the new equipment has been delivered already, with the last batch to arrive by Nov 20.
