Royal pardon decree will benefit 26,000 people, not just Thaksin

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung on Thursday denied the draft royal pardon decree approved by the cabinet on Tuesday is designed mainly to benefit fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

The decree, if put in effect, would benefit up to 26,000 people, he said.
