No epidemic in flood-hit Thailand: Public Health Ministry

BANGKOK, Nov 29 – In the aftermath of Thailand’s months-long flood crisis, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) said Tuesday it would issue two statements to assure foreign countries that there is no epidemic outbreak in the country.

Permanent Secretary for Public Health Paijit Warachit said the ministry on Tuesday met with representatives from agencies including the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Health Ministry-US Center for Disease Control (CDC) Collaboration (TUC) to discuss measures to control and prevent disease in the aftermath of the flood.
