PATTANI, Aug 9 – One man was killed Tuesday, and two others were wounded in three roadside shootings in the violence-plagued Thai southern province of Pattani, according to local police.

In Yaring district, Yuso Waekeuji was shot to death while riding a motorcycle from the provincial seat to his home in Sadawa subdistrict.

The 52-year-old village head was shot several times by unidentified assailants on a pick-up truck and died immediately at the scene, according to Pol Col Tuanday Chuthanan, superintendent of Yaring police station.
