19 Red Shirt leaders set to hear lèse majesté charges on 17 August

BANGKOK, 11 July 2011 (NNT) – The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has scheduled 19 core leaders of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) alleged of lèse majesté to hear their charges on 17 August.

After conferring with the prosecutor, DSI chief Tharit Pengdit revealed that he had notified 17 of the 19 UDD core leaders to arrive at the Government Complex on 17 August at 10.00 hrs in order to acknowledge their lèse majesté charges. The other two suspects, comprising terrorism detainees Jatuporn Prompan and Nisit Sinthuprai, will be informed of their charges at the Bangkok Remand Prison at the same time.
