Bangkok entrepreneurs to sue Red Shirts, Government for losses

BANGKOK, 20 May 2011 (NNT) – The Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association (RSTA) is preparing to file lawsuits against the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) for damages incurred by rallies and against the Government for negligence.

RSTA President Chai Srivikorn claimed that political demonstrations organized by the UDD at Ratchaprasong Intersection over the past year had caused businesses in the area to lose a huge amount of income to the tune of 10 billion THB at minimum. Therefore, he declared that legal action would be taken against the group for the damage while the Government would also be charged for negligence of duty as it failed to keep the rallies in order.
