High Waves batter the coast of Pattaya, 10 Fishing Boats destroyed

2 meter high waves battered the coast of Pattaya in the early hours of Thursday with some local fisherman believing it may be connected to the Japanese Earthquake and resulting Tsunami.

The worst hit area was in Naklua where local fisherman battled the waves for 3 hours as they struggled to save their fishing boats.

The high waves and winds lasted for approximately 3 hours and it was reported that 10 fishing boats were sunk and a number of coastal properties were damaged. We were told that these conditions had not been seen in Naklua Bay area for many years and some feared it was a result of the Japanese Earthquake.
