BANGKOK, 4 February 2011 (NNT)-Police General Wichean Potphosri instructed police during their security training yesterday to guard the Government House and the Parliament, the two important institutions, to the best of their ability.
9 police batches participated in the training which was aimed at responding to protesters under various circumstances. It included strategies ranging from negotiation to using tear gas. Pol Gen Wichean said that police needed more training on how to utilize tear gas and to disperse an army of demonstrators.
According to Pol Gen Wichean, high levels security for both the Parliament and the Government House are very crucial as they are Thailand’s central seats of state power. No outsiders should be allowed nor gain access to these places under any circumstances.
