Thai PM Abhisit says he is Thai citizen despite his birthplace in England

BANGKOK, 20 February 2011 (NNT)-Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva denied an allegation by the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) that he was a British national.

The Prime Minister has expressed his confidence that by law he has had Thai citizenship ever since he was born even though the place of birth was in England. He said he will clarify to the public on the matter, adding that he has always used the Thai citizenship to contest in the elections.
