BANGKOK, 12 February 2011 (NNT) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has turned down the rumor of House dissolution before 18 February while saying ASEAN is welcome to help in the Thai-Cambodian border conflict.

Following House Speaker Chai Chidchob’s interview on 11 February, indicating a possibility for the details on House dissolution and the new election to be made public before 18 February, Prime Minister Abhisit rejected the information and confirmed that no decision had been made. He explained that the Government is still concentrating on pushing forward important policies in a bid to address several national problems.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also expressed appreciation for ASEAN’s intention to lend a hand in finding solutions to the border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia through bilateral talks. He said any organization or country offering help would be welcome and reaffirmed that the matter could be solved at the bilateral level.
