Thai, Cambodian troops sign ceasefire

Top brass of Thai and Cambodian armed forces signed a ceasefire agreement on Saturday, reports said.

Army chief-of-staff Daopong Rattanasuwan, 2nd Army Region commander Thawatchai Samutsakhon, Directorate of Border Affairs former chief Nipat Thonglek and Suranaree Task Force commander Chavalit Choonprasarn met Royal Cambodian Army deputy commander and Prime Minister Hun Sen’s son Hun Manet and other top Cambodian military officials at a restaurant in Chong Sangam, opposite Surin province, to discuss the ceasefire deal.

Lt Gen Thawatchai said briefly that the negotiations went well.
