A BRITISH tourist has died alone in a room at a no-name Phuket bungalow. His body was found this morning by a maid who came to clean his room in the beachside resort of Karon.

Police believe the man, aged 54, had probably been dead for two days. Early indications were that he may have suffered a heart attack, one officer said.

There appeared to be no suspicious circumstances. Details from his passport have been passed to the British honorary consul on Phuket so that relatives can be notified. The man arrived on Phuket on April 5.
