Multi-colour shirts rally against UDD

People supporting the multi-coloured group filled the open ground around the equestrian statue of King Rama V at the Royal Plaza early Friday night in a show of support for the government and a rejection of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) and its demanda for a House dissolution.

Organisers of the sua lark see group had hoped to attract up to 100,000 people to the rally, but television reports suggested they had fallen well short of the target,

The demonstrators wore shirts in a wide range of colours, waved Thai flags and yellow flags bearing a symbol of His Majesty the King.
