School Bus Overturns in Roi Et, Injuring Five Students and Driver
ROI ET – A school shuttle bus overturned on a provincial road in Roi Et early Thursday morning, injuring five students and its 73-year-old driver. The accident occurred around 6:40 a.m. on December 25, 2025, on the Rong Kham–Phon Thong road in Sa Nok Kaeo subdistrict, disrupting morning traffic and prompting a swift emergency response.
Bus Collides with Lorry in Phetchaburi, Leaving Multiple Injured and Causing Major Pile-Up
The bus, transporting students from a local college, slid off the roadway and rolled onto its side. According to police from Phon Thong Police Station, the driver, identified as Mr. Sanong, reported being temporarily blinded by sunlight, which caused him to lose control. The crash took place on a section of road currently being widened from two to four lanes.
Rescue teams from Chao Pu Kut Peng provided first aid at the scene. The five injured students sustained bruises and abrasions but were conscious and treated onsite before being allowed to recover at home without requiring hospitalization. The driver suffered chest injuries and was transported to Phon Thong Hospital for treatment.
Police secured the area, documented the scene, and are reviewing witness statements and road conditions as part of their investigation. The ongoing road construction is also being considered as a potential contributing factor.
School Trip Ends in Multi-Bus Collision in Saraburi, Injuring Dozens
The incident has raised concerns regarding school transport safety, particularly involving early-morning visibility and driver age. Authorities confirmed the legal process will follow standard procedures for injury-related traffic accidents. Investigators plan to question the driver further once he is medically cleared and will continue to gather evidence before determining any legal action. The transport operator is expected to cooperate fully with the inquiry.
