Man Fatally Shot Following Road Rage Confrontation in Songkhla

HAT YAI – A 35-year-old man was killed by a gunshot after a verbal altercation with a reckless driver escalated into a fatal shooting in Songkhla province. The incident occurred on November 13 along the Ku Tao–Laem Pho Road in Hat Yai district, prompting an intensive manhunt for the unidentified gunman.

The victim, identified as Mr. Issara Lertlop, was riding a motorcycle with a friend when two oncoming cars allegedly took a bend at high speed, nearly causing a collision. Mr. Issara shouted at the drivers as they passed, after which his companion turned the motorcycle around to follow the vehicles, which had stopped nearby. As Mr. Issara approached the cars on foot, a single gunshot was fired from one vehicle, striking him in the ribcage. The assailants pursued the surviving witness, firing additional shots before fleeing toward Khlong Hae.

Mr. Issara was transported to Hat Yai Hospital but succumbed to his injuries after the bullet penetrated his heart. Police have recovered a 9mm cartridge case and are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the vehicles and shooter. Authorities are appealing to the public for any additional information or dashcam footage that could assist in the investigation.
