French Tourist and Thai Rider Rescue Transgender Woman from Chao Phraya River
CHAINAT – A spontaneous rescue mission in Chainat province saved a transgender woman from the strong currents of the Chao Phraya River, thanks to the combined efforts of a French tourist and a local Thai delivery rider. The incident, which occurred on November 5th, was captured on security cameras showing the woman climbing a fence on Phrom Prasert Road before jumping into the water.

Hearing shouts for help from alarmed onlookers, 52-year-old David from Marseille and a passing delivery rider immediately sprang into action. Braving the dangerous flow, the two men reached the woman and managed to pull her to safety. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical care, where relatives and officials attended to her.

David, a strong swimmer from the port city of Marseille, credited teamwork for the successful outcome, noting that another Thai man also entered the water and that others provided a life buoy. Authorities praised the rescuers for their quick thinking and bravery, highlighting the incident as a powerful example of cross-cultural cooperation and community solidarity.
