Thai Soldiers Rescue 11 Citizens from Cambodian Scam Gang Luring Operation
SA KAEO – In a coordinated rescue operation on Monday, Thai military forces intervened to save 11 citizens who were being lured across the Cambodian border to work for a call-center scam syndicate. The operation was launched after the Aranyaprathet Special Task Unit received critical intelligence from the eastern branch of the Immanuel Foundation Thailand.

Colonel Chainarong Kasi, commander of the special task unit, stated that the foundation had been approached by relatives of one potential victim who reported their family member was being smuggled into Cambodia under false pretenses. The victim, while still in contact with their family, revealed that approximately ten other Thais were also awaiting illegal border crossing. A shared GPS location led authorities to a private residence in Fak Huai subdistrict of Aranyaprathet district.

The special task force promptly dispatched soldiers to investigate the identified location, a house owned by Seksan Sukratok. Upon searching the premises, authorities discovered and secured the 11 Thai nationals, including the individual whose family had initially sought assistance. The operation was conducted in coordination with local police, district officials, and community leaders.

Authorities have expanded the investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for organizing the smuggling operation.
