Major Fire Engulfs Rayong Machinery Store, Threatens Nearby Gas Station
RAYONG – A machinery and construction tools store in central Rayong was consumed by a major fire early Friday morning, prompting a large-scale emergency response as the blaze spread perilously close to an adjacent petrol station. The incident began around 7:00 AM on Sukhumvit Road.

The fire originated within the shop and quickly spread to a rear warehouse area where significant quantities of engine oil and other merchandise were stored. The flammable contents caused the fire to intensify rapidly, generating intense heat and sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky. Authorities reported hearing explosions from inside the burning structure, believed to be caused by chemical containers succumbing to the extreme temperatures.

Approximately ten fire engines were dispatched to the scene, but firefighters initially struggled to contain the inferno. The chemical nature of the fuels feeding the flames rendered standard water-based firefighting largely ineffective. Recognizing the escalating danger to the nearby gas station, officials requested specialized foam tenders from the nearby Integrated Refinery & Petrochemical Complex (IRPC) to assist in the operation. No injuries have been reported in the incident.
