Dutch Man Arrested for ATM Theft in Khon Kaen After Marital Dispute
KHON KAEN — A Dutch national was arrested early Sunday morning for attempting to steal an ATM in Muang district, Khon Kaen, after allegedly dragging the machine with a pickup truck. The suspect, identified only as Mr. S., was found hiding near the scene on Maliwan Road in tambon Ban Thum.

Police from Ban Ped station responded to a theft report and discovered the ATM, belonging to Siam Commercial Bank, chained to the suspect’s truck and dragged approximately 20 meters from its original location. The Dutchman, who has resided in Thailand for six years, had reportedly been involved in a financial dispute with his Thai wife before the incident.

According to authorities, Mr. S. had given his wife 10 million baht to open a restaurant on Pracha Samran Road. He allegedly told her he was visiting a friend in Nong Khai province before committing the theft. Police confirmed the wife was not involved and that the vehicle used was a family-shared asset.
