Bomb and Gunfire Attack Injure Four Rangers in Narathiwat
NARATHIWAT — Four paramilitary rangers were wounded in a coordinated attack involving a roadside bomb and subsequent gunfire in Su-ngai Padi district on Wednesday morning. The assault occurred at approximately 7:53 a.m. during a routine security patrol, highlighting ongoing unrest in Thailand’s southern border provinces.

The injured rangers were swiftly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Following the attack, military commanders ordered heightened security measures across the region, including increased vigilance at checkpoints, military bases, government buildings, and public spaces such as convenience stores.
Authorities suspect the attackers used an improvised explosive device (IED) to ambush the patrol, possibly aiming to provoke further violence or target bomb disposal teams responding to recent incidents. The area has been sealed off for evidence collection, with forensic teams working to identify those responsible.
