Train Kills Two Teenage Girls at Railway Crossing in Songkhla
SONGKHLA – Two teenage girls lost their lives after being struck by an express train while crossing the tracks on a motorcycle in Chana district on Saturday evening.

Police from Kuan Mit Station were alerted to the incident at 5:32 PM at a level crossing near Moo 2 village, close to the Kuan Mit train station. Upon arrival, officers found the bodies of Chutimon Chuaipakdee, 14, and Pawinee Nuanthong, 15, both residents of tambon Klong Pia.
A white Suzuki motorcycle, heavily damaged, was discovered near the scene, along with the stationary Sungai-Kolok express train, which had come to a halt following the collision.

According to the train driver, he sounded the horn and attempted to slow down upon spotting the girls approaching the crossing. Despite his efforts, the girls reportedly continued onto the tracks and were struck.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the accident and are reminding the public to exercise caution at all railway crossings.
