Homeless Attacker Slashes Indian Tourist in Broad Daylight, Sparking Safety Fears in Pattaya

A 34-year-old Indian tourist was brutally slashed by a knife-wielding homeless man while waiting at a Pattaya motorbike repair shop Monday afternoon, marking the latest in a string of violent incidents involving homeless assailants terrorizing tourists.

The unprovoked attack occurred around 3 PM near a busy roadside garage, where the victim – identified only as Mr. S. – was seated on his parked motorcycle. Witnesses described how a disheveled man suddenly approached and began hacking at the tourist with a 30-centimeter blade without warning or provocation, leaving deep gashes on the victim’s right palm and torso before casually walking away.

Sawang Boriboon rescue teams found Mr. S. bleeding profusely and in shock at the scene. Medics stabilized the wounded tourist before rushing him to hospital, while police recovered the discarded knife as key evidence.

“This was completely random – they never spoke or interacted beforehand,” a shaken witness told investigators, underscoring the attack’s brazen nature. The suspect remains at large as authorities scour CCTV footage from the bustling neighborhood.
