Sanam Chandra Palace in Nakhon Pathom

Sanam Chandra Palace (พระราชวังสนามจันทร์) is a French and English style castle situated in Nakhon Pathom Province, Central Thailand.

The palace was built in 1907 by King Vajiravudh Rama VI of Siam, and is home to several historic buildings and a Ganesh shrine.

French and English styles

The main five buildings and sights inside Sanam Chandra Palace are:

– Bhimarn Prathom Residence (พระที่นั่งพิมานปฐม)

– Samakkhi Mukamat Residence (พระที่นั่งสามัคคีมุขมาตย์ ใน พระราชวังสนามจันทร์)

– Thap Khwan Residence (พระตำหนักทับขวัญ ใน พระราชวังสนามจันทร์)

– Phiman Pathom Hall (พระที่นั่งพิมานปฐม)

– Mareerajaratabulung Residence

– Statue of Yalee the dog of King Vajiravudh

– and the Ganesh memorial

From this palace complex, visitors can make out Phra Pathom Chedi, the tallest stupa in the world.
