AstraZeneca vaccine being transported to a temperature control room.

Health Ministry confirms vaccines being distributed nationwide

BANGKOK (NNT) – The Ministry of Public Health has given an assurance that COVID-19 vaccines are being distributed across the nation after a social media uproar followed announcements by several hospitals, that they were delaying administering inoculations due to a vaccine shortage, despite the government’s announcement it would start mass vaccinations on Monday, June 7th.

Following numerous critical messages of the vaccine roll out posted to social media, the Ministry of Public Health stated it is dispersing COVID-19 vaccines nationwide, noting it had distributed 2 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine this past week alone. The doses are intended for use in remote locations with some still to arrive, but the ministry has given an assurance they will be available in time for the June 7th launch. It added distribution has been adjusted to weekly from a previous schedule of monthly.
