The suspected explosive device was found near the National Cultural Centre’s subway station on Tuesday is a pipe bomb similar to the type which went off at Rajprasong shopping centre over a year ago, Pol Gen Chakthip Chaichinda, the national police chief, said on Tuesday.

The device is an iron tube about eight inches long with both ends capped.
