Thailand Launches National Road Safety Command Centre for New Year 2026
Thailand has officially activated its New Year 2026 Road Safety Accident Prevention and Reduction Command Centre, intensifying nationwide measures to protect travelers during the high-risk holiday period. The centre was opened on Monday, December 29, at the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, under the leadership of the Ministry of Interior and partner agencies.

Deputy Permanent Secretary for Interior Chaiwat Chuenkosum chaired the opening ceremony, stating that the government, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, has ordered stricter controls for the traditionally hazardous “seven dangerous days” from December 30, 2025, to January 5, 2026.
