Four Thai Soldiers Killed, Three Wounded in Battle for Strategic Hill

UBON RATCHATHANI – Four Thai soldiers were killed and three others wounded in intense fighting for control of Mount 677 in the Chong Anh Ma area of Ubon Ratchathani province today, according to Thai military sources. The Second Army Region confirmed that Thai forces have now successfully seized full control of the strategic hilltop.

Three of the fallen soldiers have been identified as Sergeant Major Damrongkiat Kaewkrachang, Private Mustakim Jehma, and Sergeant Major Thaveerat Rattanaburi. The identity of the fourth soldier was not released by the time of the report.

The successful capture of Mount 677 comes at a significant cost. Today’s casualties bring the total death toll among Thai troops since fighting escalated on Monday to over 14. The battle for the position underscores the ongoing intensity of the border conflict with Cambodia, as both sides contest key high-ground territories.
