Thailand seeks legal action against Hun Sen over leaked recording

The Thai government has filed a complaint with the Cybercrime Investigation Bureau (CIB) against Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen, accusing him of posing a threat to Thailand’s national security and inciting conflict following the release of a recorded conversation between him and the Thai prime minister on June 15.

Somkid Chuekong, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, filed the complaint on behalf of the government yesterday.

He stated that he believes Hun Sen has benefited from the leak of the audio clip on social media and that the release was politically motivated. He also asserted that Thai law could potentially be applied against Hun Sen.
