Naked Polish Tourists Arrested for Public Indecency on Koh Phangan Beach

oh Phangan, Thailand – April 29, 2025 – A Polish couple’s tropical vacation took an embarrassing turn after they were arrested for public nudity on a popular Koh Phangan beach. The incident began when alarmed locals reported seeing the pair completely nude and embracing in the middle of a public road, seemingly oblivious to passing traffic and shocked onlookers.

Witnesses said the couple later moved to Ban Kai Beach, where they were found sunbathing fully naked on the sand. Police officers arrived and ordered them to cover up before identifying them as Mr. M., 27, and Ms. K., 24, both Polish nationals.

Authorities confirmed the pair had violated Thai public decency laws, which prohibit “shameful acts in public by exposing the body or engaging in obscene behavior.” They were taken into custody and transported to Koh Phangan Police Station to face legal proceedings.

This incident comes amid ongoing tensions between Koh Phangan’s free-spirited tourist culture and local sensibilities. While the island is known for its full-moon parties and liberal atmosphere, public nudity remains strictly illegal under Thai law, with offenders risking fines or even jail time.
