Tourist Police Arrest Russian Man for Working as Illegal Tour Guide in Pattaya

In an early morning operation on February 16, 2025, the Tourist Police Bureau arrested a Russian national for working illegally as a tour guide in Pattaya. The arrest took place at Bali Hai Pier in South Pattaya following a tip-off about unauthorized tour activities.

Illegal Russian Tour Guide Arrested in Phuket Town

At approximately 8:15 AM, the Tourist Police Bureau, received information about the suspect. Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong Raksa, Deputy Superintendent, led the operation, resulting in the arrest of the individual.

The suspect was found conducting tours without the necessary permits or licenses, violating Thai labor laws that reserve certain professions, including tour guiding, for Thai nationals. The Tourist Police emphasized their commitment to enforcing regulations that protect local employment and ensure the safety and quality of tourism services.
