At 11:00 PM on June 3rd, 2024, Thai highway police officers received an anonymous tip about coaches transporting a large number of illegal immigrants from Chiang Rai to Bangkok.

In response to the report, Thai highway police, Phrae immigration officers, and relevant agencies were dispatched to strategic locations along Yantrakitkoson Road in Song District, Rong Kwang District, and Mueang Phrae District.
