39 new COVID-19 cases as new Saphan Sung cluster emerges

Thailand recorded 39 new COVID-19 cases today (Monday), as health officials keep a close watch on a new cluster in the Saphan Sung district of Bangkok, related to the Bang Khae market cluster.

A butcher, at a fresh market in Saphan Sung district, reportedly developed symptoms on March 11th and tested positive for COVID-19 two days later, after he had already spread the disease to his wife, who is an asymptomatic case. Seven other people in the same house have been placed under observation.
