Suthep cleared of defaming ex-UDD core leaders by the Appeals Court

The Appeals Court on Tuesday upheld the lower court’s acquittal of Suthep Thuagsuban, former secretary-general of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), charged with defamation by the prosecutor.

Accompanied by his lawyer and supporters, Mr Suthep arrived at the Appeals Court this morning (Tuesday) to hear the court’s reading of the verdict in which he was accused of defaming core members of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) Chatuporn Promphan, Natthawut Saikua and Weng Tochirakarn for urging voters to boycott the election.
