VEC and NBTC work together to complete analog to digital TV transition

BANGKOK, 8 December 2016 (NNT) – The Office of the Vocational Education Commission (VEC) has joined hands with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to have students help generate understanding on the transition from analog television signals to digital in 20 provinces.

At a seminar exchanging ideas on increasing public understanding on the transition from analog to digital television broadcasts organized by the VEC, Director-General of the VEC’s Information Technology Center Sirichai Chamniensawad made known that an initial phase of a joint effort between the VEC and NBTC concluded on December 1. The program saw VEC students traveling across 20 provinces to assist households in installing digital television boxes. The effort helped 30 percent of targeted homes install the boxes. It is planned that 100 percent of Thai homes will switch to digital television viewing within 2017.
