Ministry of Culture calls for re-edit of promotional music video after complaints of inappropriacy

BANGKOK, 23 September 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Culture has asked the director of tourism promotion music video “Thiew Thai Mee Hey” re-edit the video in response to complaints portions of it are inappropriate.

Permanent Secretary for Culture Apinan Posayanont, following a meeting with representatives of the Department of Cultural Promotion, Department of Fine Arts and Bunditpatanasilpa Institute on the use of Khon characters in the “Thiew Thai Mee Hey” music video, revealed that its makers have conceded that portions of the video may need adjustment. He affirmed however that the meeting acknowledged the video’s merits and that the Ministry of Culture wants to continue its use.
