Government begins paying 400-baht monthly subsidy to low-income earners’ infants

The government yesterday began paying 400 baht cash subsidy to 56,400 infants of low-income earners under its plan to improve the quality of life of poor families.

According to Mr Manat Jaemweha, director-general of the Comptroller General’s Department, the first round of payment to infants whose mothers have earlier registered for the state welfare assistance for newly-born babies amounted to 22.6 million baht.
