Protesters burn nine cars at Phuket’s Thalang district police station

Nine cars parked at Phuket’s Thaland district police station were set afire and 13 others were smashed by angry protesters late Saturday night following the death of two suspected drug traffickers in an accident as they tried to escape police arrest.

The protesters who are mostly relatives and friends of the two youths, aged 17 and 22, laid siege to the police station and blocked the Thepkasat road in front of the police station on Saturday following the fatal incident.
