Royal Thai Police says removal of Thaksin’s police rank underway

BANGKOK, 1 September 2015 (NNT) – The Royal Thai Police has finished examining the evidence and is deliberating the revocation of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s police title.

Police Chief Police General Somyos Poompanmuang said he has already received a letter from the Office of Official Information Commission regarding the possibility of revoking the police rank of Mr. Thaksin.

The Police Chief said that no information can be revealed at this point in the deliberation process and that additional time is required. Once the deliberation process is completed, the matter will be forwarded to the Cabinet Secretary-General for further consideration.
